PimaGirl Consulting (PGC) and our collaborative Language Program with CRIT (Colorado River Indian Tribes) Language Groups, NASA, AZ Science Center, and NatiVisions:
Preserving Language, Honoring Legacy
At PimaGirl Consulting, we believe that Indigenous languages are the heartbeat of cultural identity and intergenerational resilience. Through our partnership with the Colorado River Indian Tribes, we supported a language revitalization initiative that uplifted community voices, honored tribal elders, and created space for youth to reconnect with their linguistic heritage.
This program wasn’t just about translation—it was about transformation. By integrating storytelling, mentorship, and hands-on learning, we helped foster a deeper understanding of how language shapes worldview, strengthens sovereignty, and heals historical trauma. Every word spoken in Mohave, Hopi, Navajo, and Chemehuevi is a step toward cultural continuity and collective empowerment.
PGC remains committed to advancing Indigenous language preservation as a cornerstone of ethical consulting, educational equity, and community-led innovation.
Building Capacity Through Language, Strategy, and Sustainability
PimaGirl Consulting (PGC) played a pivotal role in advancing the Colorado River Indian Tribes’ (CRIT) Language Program by delivering a comprehensive framework rooted in cultural stewardship, educational equity, and long-term impact.
Curriculum Building
PGC designed a culturally responsive curriculum that honored tribal languages, including Mohave, Hopi, Navajo and Chemehuevi. The curriculum integrated:
• Intergenerational storytelling and elder-led instruction.
• STEM-infused language activities and curriculum for youth engagement.
• Hands-on breakout sessions blending tribal history, partnership building, and linguistic preservation.
• Culturally aligned lesson plans and educator guides for formal learning environments.
Strategic Planning
PGC facilitated collaborative planning sessions with tribal leaders, educators, and program coordinators to:
• Align language revitalization goals with tribal education and workforce development strategies
• Map service gaps and opportunities using stakeholder interviews, talking circles, and observational field notes
• Develop measurable KPIs and reporting templates to track progress and impact
Sustainability & Capacity Building
To ensure long-term success, PGC provided training and tools that empowered CRIT staff and community partners to:
• Build internal capacity for grant writing, program evaluation, and digital migration
• Integrate booking tools, client portals, and resource directories for streamlined access
• Host train-the-trainer workshops to expand local leadership and mentorship
• Embed Indigenous values into organizational culture and decision-making processes
This initiative reflects PGC’s commitment to transformational consulting—where language is not just preserved, but activated as a tool for healing, leadership, and community resilience.
Winter Stories: Honoring the Winter of Storytelling
In many Indigenous cultures, winter is a sacred time for storytelling—a season when the earth rests and ancestral knowledge rises. At PimaGirl Consulting, we honor this tradition through Winter Stories, a narrative practice that invites participants to share the origins of their journey, purpose, or connection to community.
Winter Stories are more than introductions—they are ceremonial openings that reflect the brilliance of lived experience, much like stars guiding travelers through darkness. Rooted in tribal values, these stories create space for healing, relational accountability, and intergenerational wisdom. Whether shared in talking circles, breakout sessions, or leadership trainings, Star Stories illuminate the path forward.
By aligning our program design with the Winter of Storytelling, PGC reinforces the power of narrative as a tool for curriculum design, strategic planning, and capacity building—where every initiative begins with a voice, a season, and a story that shines.
